His Eggcellency
Gameplay
His Eggcellency is a game where you are a fragile egg attempting to gather all of the magical eggs hidden throughout the world. You must scale dizzying heights to find them all, but a simple slip and you will meet a bitter demise.... over and over again.
The game was created for Brackeys Game Jam 2025.1 with the theme "Nothing can go wrong...". His Eggcellency is inspired by games like Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, Only Up, and the jumping puzzles found in games like Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV. In these games, things often go wrong for the player leading to backwards progression, but leads to a strong desire to finally overcome the obstacles. This game further adds to the madness by attempting to do jumping puzzles as a fragile egg that easily cracks under the pressure of missing a jump even slightly.
We incorporated a passive multiplayer approach where you can see other online players attempting to solve the jumping puzzles (and probably failing them). Misery loves company right? Online multiplayer is only available for the web version of the game.
My personal best time was 04:10.646 with only 6 deaths. Post your times in the comments! Update: After practicing some more and finding some time skips for the speedrun, my best time is now 02:14.134. Really fun to speedrun once you get used it!
Note: If you have performance problems with the web version, consider downloading the executable version for your operating system. It will run significantly faster (but no multiplayer).

Multiplayer
His Eggcellency uses a persistent backend server (hosted by Playroom) so all players can connect to a common game world and explore together. There is nothing special you need to do to play online, just simply play the web version of the game and you will automatically be playing in a multiplayer environment.
There are additional persistence features that allow your influence on the game world to continue existing beyond your play through. Anytime a player dies, their death location is recorded and viewable by other players. These deaths are indicated by a Broken Egg icon in game.

Could you beat that?))))

!?!? lol how the…
clueless 😎
Wow, thats a really great time! It took me a good bit of practice before I could start consistently getting my time that low.
What's your fastest run?
There are a few time skip spots that I’ve found that enable you to shave even more time off from doing it the correct way.
I think the fastest I was able to do it “the correct” way was around 4:30. But with some of the shortcuts, I am down to 2:19 for my fastest. I think I might be able to get down to ~2:10, but I’d really need a perfect run.
??????? insane
Just recorded a video of my new record, 2:14. I got super lucky throughout this run.
