Oasis
Gameplay
Oasis is a cooperative exploration and survival game where the player must carefully manage their life essence, AQUA, to traverse the desert in search of a new oasis. The harsh sun of the desert will quickly evaporate a player's aqua, so it is essential to take advantage of shade to reduce aqua consumption when exploring. Along the way, the player can find natural sources of aqua, like cactus, or by using aqua dowsing to locate hidden underground aqua sources to extend your journey.
The scorching desert however is unforgiving and many explorers have taken their final rest during their trials. Trial and error is expected when undertaking the common rites of Aqua so do not fear death. The oasis restores all and what was once a final resting spot can now serve as a marker for others about the dangers of the desert.
Controls
- WASD: Directional movement
- T Key: Inscribe a comment on the ground to help other players
- E Key: (Needs Shovel) Dig a hole to find hidden water springs
- R Key: (Needs Shovel) Perform water dowsing to locate hidden water locations
Multiplayer
Oasis uses a persistent backend server (hosted by Playroom) so all players can connect to a common game world and explore together. There are additional persistence features that allow your influence on the game world to continue existing beyond your play through. Anytime a player dies, their death location is recorded and viewable by other players. Additionally, players can also optionally inscribe messages on the ground to give helpful hints to instruct other players that may be having trouble exploring the world.

Developed using Godot 4.3-dev6, Aseprite, and 1BitDragon. All code, music, sfx, and artwork were created during PixelArtJam2024. The font used is KennyNL's freely available Kenny Fonts (License CC0).
